The fourth FrenchBIC online webinar will take place on Monday January 17th at 10.30am, and it will be given by: Hélène Bertrand (ENS Paris), Development of Platinum(IV) conjugates of oxaliplatin and Superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimics as anticancer agents with reduced neurotoxicity (abstract). The format of the seminar is one 30+10 min talk, followed by a meeting time in an online space for informal discussions. The seminar will be given online, there. Organizers: Vincent Fourmond and Benoît Bertrand.
The SBIC has successfully completed the election cycle for 2021. Clotilde Policar (Ecole Normale Supérieure, PSL University, Paris, France) will be the president of the society for the period 2022-2024 and then act as Past-president from 2024 to 2026.

Electrochemistry and Spectroscopies operando for reaction monitoring in molecular catalysis. Application to CO2 reduction and O2 activation
Nikolaos Kostopoulos, from the Laboratoire d’Electrochimie Moléculaire in Paris, spent one week in the lab Dr. Nicolas Le Poul at Laboratoire de Chimie et Electrochimie Moléculaires et Chimie Analytique. This project was supported by a grant from FrenchBIC.

Biomimetic inorganic chemistry aims at reproducing structural and spectroscopic properties and ultimately the reactivity of metallic enzymes. In this context, our group has acquired a strong expertise in using simple and well-studied ligands covalently attached to a molecular cavity. We want now to follow another approach in which a coordination complex is fully embedded in a supramolecular capsule.
