[Expired] PhD position: Binding Site Properties versus Intramolecular Cooperativity in Lanthanide and Actinide Recognition by the N-terminal Domain of Calmodulin

We announce a fully funded 3-year PhD position in the field of bioinorganic chemistry, focusing on protein-metal interactions. This research will be conducted at the Bioscience and Biotechnology Institute Aix-Marseille (BIAM) at CEA Cadarache, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Actinide-Ligand Interactions (LILA) at CEA Marcoule. The desired start date is October 15, 2026.

This PhD project aims to unravel molecular determinants governing lanthanide and americium binding by combining  protein engineering, molecular dynamics simulations, and experimental biophysics. The ultimate goal is to develop protein-based molecular recognition systems with enhanced affinity and selectivity for sustainable critical-metal separation.
