[Job] PhD and postdoc position in time-resolved crystallography and cryo EM at Uppsala University

We are currently searching for a PhD student and a two-year postdoc,  to investigate the reaction mechanism of [FeFe]-hydrogenases and nitrogenases using time-resolved crystallography in the Senger lab in close collaboration with the Westenhoff group at Uppsala University, Sweden.

The PhD project aims at resolving the reaction mechanism of [FeFe]-hydrogenases and nitrogenases and involves biochemistry (protein purification/crystallisation), biophysical characterisation (spectroscopy) and structure determination mainly by time-resolved X-ray crystallography at synchrotrons and Free Electron Lasers (XFELs), and also using cryo electron microscopy (EM).

The application portal and further details on the PhD program can be found in the following link: https://uu.varbi.com/en/what:job/jobID:798714/

The application portal is open until 14th April 2025.

In connection with the above project, we have a two-year postdoctoral fellowship available involving the insertion of artificial amino acids into these enzymes. Ideally, we are looking for someone with biochemical experience, however, if you are interested in the above project you are welcome to apply. This fellowship explicitly involves support into independence for the postdocs further career steps. For the postdoc position, please send an email with CV and cover letter directly to .

We review applications on an ongoing basis.

Kind regards,

Moritz and Sebastian

Expires on Monday April 14th, 2025
