[Expired] AsBIC9 – 9th Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference

Singapore from 9-14 December 2018.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the 9th Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry (AsBIC) Conference which will be held on the tropical island of Singapore from 9-14 December 2018.

The biennial AsBIC Conference is an important event for the bioinorganic chemistry community and will provide an excellent platform for researchers, particularly those from the Asia-Pacific region, to discuss important questions in the field and chart future directions. This conference is in its 9th edition and builds upon the strong tradition of bioinorganic chemistry research in the Asia and Oceania regions. Previous AsBIC conferences have been held in Auckland, New Zealand (2016), Gold Coast, Australia (2014), Hong Kong (2012), Kaohsiung, Taiwan (2010), Jeju Island, Korea (2008), Nanjing, China (2006), Goa, India (2004), and Okazaki, Japan (2002).

This will be the first time that an important bioinorganic chemistry conference is held in Singapore. At the intersection of the East and West, Singapore is well-connected to both. Once a British colony and briefly, a state within the Malaysia Federation, Singapore became an independent nation in 1965 and has been growing steadily since. To keep pace with our development, funding in R&D, particularly in life and physical sciences, have been increasing over the past decade with the establishment of key research institutions and universities.

NUS and NTU are proud to be the co-organisers of AsBIC-9.

We look forward to welcoming you to our little sunny island-state!
