The Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology is seeking a Post-doctoral Research Associate to join the group of Dr Amandine Maréchal and carry out structure/function studies of respiratory cytochrome c oxidase.
Emphasis will be put on the elucidation of the pumping mechanism using advanced spectroscopic techniques, and in particular Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), and on the understanding of the role of ‘supernumerary’ subunits and environmental factors in controlling catalysis.
Applicants should have a PhD in biochemistry, structural biology or chemistry and relevant research publications.
Starting salary £35,343 rising to £40,460 per annum.
Position available for up to 5 years.
