VIII Latin American Meeting on Biological Inorganic Chemistry (VIII LABIC)

On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to announce that the VIII Latin American Meeting on Biological Inorganic Chemistry (VIII LABIC) will be held in Viña del Mar, Chile, from 25 to 29 April 2023.

Viña del Mar is a dynamic city located on Chile’s Pacific coast, with 350,000 inhabitants and just 120 km from the capital of the country, Santiago. Viña del Mar is part of an urban cluster of 5 cities, the most popular being Valparaíso, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003.

LABIC is a biannual meeting, hosted by Brazil (2008, 2010, 2012 and 2018), Argentina (2014), and México (2016). The last one in 2021 was successfully organized by Uruguay under challenging conditions because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it provided continuity to this scientific discussion forum.

For the Latin American community dedicated to research on biological inorganic chemistry, the eighth meeting will be an opportunity to discuss their latest findings. We are working on building an exciting programme to motivate participants from Latin America, and other regions such as North America, Europe and Asia, aiming to encourage deeper interactions between researchers.
