DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues\, \nThe XI International Conference on Fe-S Proteins: Function\, Biogenesis\, and Regulation will be held June 3-7/2024\, at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem\, NC\, USA. \nThe first ten meetings of this conference series have attracted 120-150 participants from all over the world and from a range of research disciplines\, including chemists\, biochemists\, spectroscopists\, molecular biologists\, geneticists\, and physicians. Previous meetings have been held in alternating locations in the US and Europe every two years and included Virginia Tech\, Blacksburg\, VA (2000)\, U. of Marburg\, Marburg\, DE (2002)\, U. of Wisconsin\, Madison\, WI (2005 and 2018)\, Villard de Lans\, France (2007)\, U. of Georgia\, Athens\, GA (2009)\, Girton College\, Cambridge\, UK (2011)\, U. of South Carolina\, Columbia\, SC (2013)\, Bergamo\, Italy (2015)\, Gulf of St Tropez\, St. Maxine\, France (2022). \nThe upcoming meeting in 2024  will focus on 1)  sulfur mobilization and iron trafficking\, 2) Fe-S cluster assembly and trafficking\, 3) Fe-S clusters as sensors and regulators\, 4) Fe-S proteins structure and function\, 5) applications of Fe-S clusters in medicine\, biotechnology\, and industry. The program will include talks from invited speakers and several speakers selected from abstracts. DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce that the 10th meeting in the series Bacterial Electron Transfer processes and their regulation will be held at Eurostars Centrum Hotel\, Alicante\, Spain from 6-8th March 2024. \nThis meeting\, organized by the European Federation of Biotechnology\, will bring together an international group of researchers who share interests in bacterial electron transfer. In 2024\, the meeting presents the latest breakthroughs in microbial respiration and its regulation with a particular focus on how respiration has been identified in a number of studies at the frontiers of the field. \nSessions are organized around different topics\, including bioenergetics\, metabolism\, stress adaptation\, respiration of human microbiota\, antibiotic resistance\, host-pathogens relationship and cell biology aspects. The 1st SABIC was organized by TIFR during October 7-11\, 1996 and subsequently the 2nd symposium was held during November 20-24\, 2000 at TIFR. The 3rd SABIC was organized in conjunction with the second Asian Biological Inorganic Chemistry Conference (AsBiC-II) at Goa during December 6-10\, 2004. SUMMARY:6th Quantum Bio-Inorganic Chemistry Conference
DESCRIPTION:The conference is organized jointly by the Institute of Physical Chemistry\, Polish Academy of Sciences (IChF) in Warsaw\, and the Laboratory of Chemistry and Biology of Metals (LCBM)\, French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). The 2023 conference follows the previous QBIC meetings in Warwick (1999)\, Lund (2003)\, Český Krumlov (2011)\, Bath (2018)\, and Marseille (2019). QBIC-VI is the third meeting organized since the founding of the Quantum Bioinorganic Chemistry Society. The scientific focus of the conference is on computational inorganic and bioinorganic chemistry\, covering theoretical methods\, novel applications\, and combined computational/experimental approaches. Heterogeneous\, inorganic and biological catalysts each display important advantages\, but also come with challenges. In spite of the complexity of these vastly different electrocatalytic systems\, there is a tantalising prospect that these disciplines can complement each other. SUMMARY:4th International Conference on Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer (PCET 2023)
DESCRIPTION:The 4th International Conference on Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer (PCET 2023) will take place in Spain from June 5-9\, 2023. \nThe event will be held in the Hotel Caribe of Port Aventura Resort\, one of the most famous amusement parks in Europe. Located at Costa Daurada\, it is 1 hour south of Barcelona and 15 minutes south of Tarragona\, a port city with a rich Roman history. The site is easily accessible by train\, bus\, and car. \nPCET 2023 will bring together multidisciplinary experts to discuss the most recent achievements in PCET research in organic\, enzymatic\, catalytic\, theoretical and materials disciplines. SUMMARY:VIII Latin American Meeting on Biological Inorganic Chemistry (VIII LABIC)
DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the organizing committee\, we are pleased to announce that the VIII Latin American Meeting on Biological Inorganic Chemistry (VIII LABIC) will be held in Viña del Mar\, Chile\, from 25 to 29 April 2023. \nViña del Mar is a dynamic city located on Chile’s Pacific coast\, with 350\,000 inhabitants and just 120 km from the capital of the country\, Santiago. Viña del Mar is part of an urban cluster of 5 cities\, the most popular being Valparaíso\, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2003. \nLABIC is a biannual meeting\, hosted by Brazil (2008\, 2010\, 2012 and 2018)\, Argentina (2014)\, and México (2016). The last one in 2021 was successfully organized by Uruguay under challenging conditions because of the COVID-19 pandemic\, but it provided continuity to this scientific discussion forum. \nFor the Latin American community dedicated to research on biological inorganic chemistry\, the eighth meeting will be an opportunity to discuss their latest findings.
