DESCRIPTION:Bioinorganic redox modulation/signaling for (bio)medical applications\nIvana Ivanović-Burmazović: Her research focuses on the control and modulation of redox processes in living systems\, biomimetic catalysis and chemical energy conversion. The scientist did her PhD in chemistry at University of Belgrade\, followed by a time as assistant professor. In 2008\, Ivana Ivanović-Burmazović completed her habilitation at Friedrich-Alexander University\, Erlangen-Nürnberg\, and was appointed as the Chair of Bioinorganic Chemistry. Since 2020\, she holds the Chair of Bioinorganic Chemistry and Coordination Chemistry at LMU Munich \nExamples of mechanisms by which redox active and inactive inorganic entities\, such as manganese\, iron\, H2S and zinc\, can modulate redox reactions and trigger cascade of signaling processes and thus be applied to develop potential pharmaceuticals\, adjuvants and therapy enhancers\, for approaching longevity\, cancer radiation therapy\, neurovascular regulation of blood pressure and heart function\, enhancement of covid-19 therapy and posttranslational redox modifications\, will be presented. \nOnsite.
